Q

Can you tell us about your background? What led you to join Safe Metal and take over the management of Feurst®?

A

Since the beginning of my career, I have always been closely involved with the manufacture and distribution of technical products — first in industry (special machinery, steelmaking, aggregates, agriculture, paper, etc.), then in the automotive sector (engine parts, suspension components). I have also spent many years working internationally. I joined the Safe Metal group with the ambition to unlock the full potential of this dynamic company and to develop the worldwide distribution of Feurst®’s manufactured products.

Q

What is Feurst®’s core business and market positioning?

A

Feurst® is a French brand built on 100% French expertise. It is a true source of pride to contribute to the growth of a French industrial player in a globalized context. We design and produce highly innovative, patented ground engaging tool systems that significantly improve efficiency and performance in quarrying and construction operations.

The company is clearly positioned in a high-value-added market. Our products, skills, and experience allow us to design optimized technical solutions tailored to every application. When certain innovations (in design, metallurgy, ease of assembly & maintenance) can benefit a broader audience, we integrate them into our catalog offer.

Q

After a few months as Operations Director, how would you summarize Feurst®’s 2022 performance?

A

Feurst®’s performance is extremely solid. Our expertise and technical know-how are key strengths that drive a virtuous growth model. Feurst® is both robust and flexible — our capacity for innovation allows us to adapt quickly to customer needs and sustain long-term growth.

Our 2021 turnover increased by 30% compared to 2020, driven by the recovery of the construction and quarry industries. The outlook for 2022 was excellent, with real successes internationally.

I am convinced that innovation is Feurst’s main growth engine. We benefit from the unique know-how of our design office, complemented by advanced manufacturing expertise provided by Safe Metal.

Q

What are your perspectives for 2023 and beyond?

A

We have a technological roadmap that enables us to address new applications and new customer segments. A new range is currently in pre-launch: a hammerless tooth system for the Construction & Public Works market, offering the same level of safety and performance as its big sister TURNKEY®, whose name it will carry.

Our second major objective for 2023 is to get closer to customers and end users. We are strengthening the brand-user relationship. In 2022, together with the marketing team, we initiated Feurst®’s digital transformation. New customer-relationship tools are being introduced to provide enhanced services.

This digitalization will also improve our agility and flexibility. Process renewal will allow us to deliver exemplary customer service — offering innovative solutions rapidly and efficiently, both in France and abroad.

Q

Is international expansion still a priority?

A

Feurst® already has a strong international presence — we operate in 37 countries and manage a growing network of distributors. “Made in France” is a strong selling point, and we are the only brand in our segment able to claim it.

We intend to strengthen this presence even further. A dedicated team will promote Feurst® solutions worldwide. It’s a real challenge, but I am confident that our technical expertise, innovation, and product durability will establish Feurst® as a global reference alongside players such as ESCO WEIR and MTG Metalogenia.

Q

Field proximity and co-design — a way to shape tomorrow’s solutions?

A

These six months heading operations have allowed me to fully understand our customers’ challenges and expectations. I spent considerable time with them to assess both the current value of our bucket solutions and the future value proposition.

Today, Feurst® is recognized for its excellence in both technical expertise and distribution & logistics. Most of our references are available within two days — a key competitive advantage for our dealers and users.

We are already developing service solutions for maintenance operators, as well as global solutions in partnership with our distributors.
